Kitchen Refurbishment

Would a Kitchen Refurbishment Save Me More Money Than a Kitchen Renovation?

Some people get bored of their kitchen. It’s easily done, as a lot of time is spent there, entertaining guests, cooking or even helping kids with homework. As you’ll be spending a lot of time in the kitchen you’ll want it to be a place of comfort and attraction, and even the talking point of your home amongst guests.

So now that you are looking for a change you’ll probably be wondering if you should simply refurb your kitchen or start all over again by stripping it all out with a renovation. We recently discussed the environmental aspects between the two, but in today’s blog we discuss 4 key benefits of how a kitchen refurbishment could save you money.

What are the benefits?

  1. With a kitchen refurbishment, you are simply changing the design of your kitchen. So this could be either changing the colour of your kitchen cabinets or your kitchen furniture. You wont need to change or buy any new furniture if you don’t want to.
  2. A full kitchen renovation will incur more extensive labour from uninstalling the old kitchen, to disposing of the old kitchen and fitting a new kitchen. Choosing a kitchen refurbishment will have lower labour fees so save you money on the cost of the project. Something to think about if you have a smaller budget.
  3. The kitchen is the heart of the home, as a lot of occasions and activities are usually held in the kitchen such as cooking, cleaning, washing, socialising, etc. When considering your home for sale, prospective buyers will often imagine themselves in the kitchen more than any  other room when making a decision. Installing a new kitchen can be costly and not a guaranteed return on investment, while refurbishing your kitchen so it is modern and functional can increase the value of your home, allow the prospective buyer to imagine, and deliver a greater return on investment.
  4. Kitchens are areas of high traffic, so spillages and other wear and tear does happen. When your kitchen looks worn and dated it is easy to fall out of love with it and soon, you’ll find yourself avoiding all but essential time in there. Giving your kitchen a refurbishment will show it the love it deserves and when the project is complete your kitchen will look new, be functional and a place you want to come together as a family.
